Chivasso's Hazelnut Festival Returns: From September 22-27 with Waterside Dining and Cooking Shows

From September 22 to 27, Chivasso celebrates hazelnut candies, the world's smallest sweets, with the traditional Festival that this year brings several new features, as reported by Corriere della Sera - Torino.

Program Schedule for the Week

The evenings of September 22, 23 and 24 transform the Church of the Angels and Pasticceria Bonfante into meeting spaces and discussions about the history of hazelnut candies. Starting Friday, September 25, the actual tastings begin, with dedicated pairings, cooking shows and presentations from the Masters of Taste and the liqueur wine collection. In participating restaurants, the Hazelnut Dinner takes place, now a fixed appointment of the event.

Among this year's novelties is also a web app designed to easily navigate through the scheduled events.

Grand Finale on Sunday 27

On Sunday, September 27, in the afternoon, the Confraternity distributes zabaglione and hazelnut candies, before the awarding of the Golden Hazelnut, which this year goes to Fiorentino Rosa, a merchant heir to a family tradition in the hardware business active since the 1930s. The Hazelnut 'd Tola 2026 award is also presented to the Magnificent Rector of the Politecnico di Torino Stefano Paolo Corgnati for his commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability issues.

Closing the event will be the Dinner on the Water, among this year's new features: the appointment will be held at the Cavour Canal Intake Building, an infrastructure celebrating its 160th anniversary this year.
