Terra Madre in Turin: Oysters, Puglian Bombette and Free Pizza for Passersby Between Piazza Castello and Piazza Vittorio

Piazza Castello and piazza Vittorio have transformed into a tasting route for Terra Madre, as reported by La Stampa Torino. Among Puglian bombette, Breton oysters and freshly baked pizza, the city center offers a perfect flavor itinerary for the weekend.

At the "Quelli della Bombetta" stand in piazza Vittorio, Francesco Biasi prepares bombette from Valle d'Itria. Carlo Petrini always used to sit at his table, and according to Biasi, he would come visit them at every edition.

Under the Eccellenza Piemonte tent in piazza Castello, a group of students from the Virginia Agnelli and Valdocco vocational institutes prepares bread, pizza bianca, focaccia and shortbread pastry live, offering them free to those who stop to watch. Franco Carlo Mattiazzi, president of the Regional Union of Bakers of Piedmont, coordinates the young people as they learn the trade in real time.

Still in piazza Castello, lines form in front of international stands: the Revolucion restaurant offers Mexican cuisine, while the Anaro and manitas creativas stand presents jewelry, textiles, essential oils and coffee from Peruvian indigenous culture.

A few steps away, a stand sells Breton oysters starting at 7.50 euros for three pieces, up to 27 euros for a dozen. In piazza Vittorio, among the gazebos of Basilicata, the social cooperative PeperonAut works with Senise peppers from the province of Potenza, with a project involving four autistic young people followed by two educators.
