Mourinho Returns to Rome: Drugi Prepares the Mural for October 13

José Mourinho is about to return to Rome and the city is preparing to celebrate him on its walls too. Street artist Lorenzo Verrecchia, known as Drugi, told Corriere dello Sport - Roma exclusively about the new poster dedicated to the Special One, which will appear on the streets on October 13, the day before the match.

A project started at the Champions League draw

Drugi explained that he has been working on the artwork since the Champions League draw: "His return is worth a masterpiece... and I really like it a lot," the artist declared, without anticipating the details of the image, which will remain a surprise until the day it appears on the walls of the Capital.

Drugi's style: poster art, not actual murals

A Roman by adoption but from Molise by birth, Drugi clarified that his works, often called murals, are actually poster art: images created on paper and then stuck to walls like posters, not painted directly on the surface. This is also the case with the recent poster dedicated to Paulo Dybala, inspired by the striker's gesture of giving his shirt to a young fan after the match against Torino.

Love for Rome, not a job

The artist reiterated that his activity remains a hobby, born exclusively from his passion for Roma and the city: "I paint Rome because loving it is not enough for me," he said. Among the works he is most proud of is the mural dedicated to Claudio Ranieri, created at a delicate moment for the Giallorossi environment, and the one depicting a child wearing a Francesco Totti jersey, inspired by a real photo transformed into a poster.

Among his most recent works is also the one for Gian Piero Gasperini, which according to Drugi was featured on television sports programs and led the coach to write to him and invite him to Trigoria, where the artist handed him a copy.
