San Gennaro World, Standing Ovation for Tullio De Piscopo with LDA and Aka7even on the Cathedral Esplanade

The Sagrato del Duomo in Naples was transformed into an open-air stage for the grand finale of the Premio San Gennaro World 2026, now in its 14th edition. As reported by ANSA Campania, the event created by Gianni Simioli brought together music, culture, art, sport and civic associations for two hours, in what the outlet describes as a spectacular "patchwork."

Tribute to Tullio De Piscopo

The most intense moment of the evening came with "Poesie clandestine," the duet between LDA and Aka7even, followed by a standing ovation for Tullio De Piscopo. The drummer got the audience dancing with "Miranda," a blues and a revisited version of "Andamento lento," rewritten for the occasion by LDA and Aka7even in their "Sanremo cover" variant. Accompanying him on stage was a band composed of Checco D'Alessio, Angelo Abbate, Ciro Manna, Guido Della Gatta, Cristian Capasso and Carmine Landolfi. De Piscopo received, along with the award, a mask created by master nativity artisan Marco Ferrigno.

Tribute to Napoli in the club's centennial year

In the centennial year of the blue club, a tribute to the team could not be missed: street artist Cristian Vollaro, author of the anthem "Primo agosto," was celebrated with a live performance by Gabriele Esposito, sung by the entire audience. Also honored were Tommaso Starace, the man who has been part of Napoli's history for 50 years, and journalist Gianfranco Coppola.

The evening's award winners

The main award, a bust of San Gennaro created by artisans from Scarabattola, went to Antonella Morea, honored by the actors of "Casa Surace." Among the other protagonists of the awards ceremony: actor Biagio Izzo, singer Samurai Jay (who brought "Ossessione" to Sanremo 2026, later translated as "Obsesión"), Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, artist Gianpiero D'Alessandro, journalist Vittorio Del Tufo, photojournalist Sergio Siano, Susy Galeone from the "La Paranza" cooperative, Ugo Cilento from Maison Cilento 1780 and Emanuele Ventura together with Giovanna Giannandrea.

The event, sponsored by the Tourism and Productive Activities Department of the City of Naples, was broadcast live by Radio RTL 102.5 and Radio Marte.
