FAI Autumn Days in Naples: October 10-11 open hidden monuments and museums

Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11 mark the return of the FAI Autumn Days, now in its fifteenth edition: throughout Italy, and therefore also in Campania, usually inaccessible or little-known locations will open to the public, with visits on a free-admission basis.

As reported by Il Mattino, the Italian Heritage Fund initiative will involve the delegations of Naples, Avellino, Benevento, Caserta and Salerno, thanks to the work of volunteers from FAI Groups and FAI Youth.

What you can visit

The program is, as always, highly varied: ranging from monumental buildings, theaters and churches to educational spaces, from natural areas to castles, not forgetting art collections, contemporary architecture and unusual sites. This year, particular attention is devoted to Italian craftsmanship and made in Italy, with openings dedicated to the knowledge and manufacturing traditions of the territories.

Among the openings in Campania stands out that of the Palizzi Institute, linked to the Caselli Palizzi Arts Center, which will be exceptionally visitable on October 10 and 11: a tour through the rooms of the Industrial Artistic Museum, recently reinstalled, and the ancient workshops where art, education and artisan knowledge intertwine.

The presentation

The complete program of openings in Campania will be illustrated at a press conference on Thursday at 10:30 precisely at the headquarters of the Caselli Palizzi Arts Center, in the Filangieri Pavilion Hall. Among others, municipal councilor Carlo Puca and the FAI Campania regional president Michele Pontecorvo Ricciardi will speak, followed by an exclusive preview visit of the Palizzi Institute.

Visits, as is FAI tradition, are sustained through a free contribution: a donation that allows the Fund to continue its activity of protecting and enhancing Italian cultural and landscape heritage.
