Sunday, September 27 will mark the conclusion in Naples of the preliminary races of the 38th Louis Vuitton America's Cup, with the Gulf hosting Race Day 3 and the decisive Final Match Race, as reported by Il Mattino.

After two days of fleet racing among the AC40 monohull foiling yachts, only the top two teams in the general standings will advance to the final match race, a straight head-to-head competition that will award the trophy of the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Preliminary Regatta.

According to NapoliToday, after the second day of races Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli leads the provisional standings with 43 points, ahead of Emirates Team New Zealand and Alinghi Red Bull Racing, both with 34 points. The second Italian team, Luna Rossa 2 Woman&Youth, is in sixth place with 29 points.

Saturday's racing delivered surprises: as reported by ANSA, in the fifth fleet race the French crew of La Roche-Posay Racing Team, which was leading by a large margin, capsized just before the finish line, allowing victory to go to the Youth & Women crew of Emirates Team New Zealand. Luna Rossa senior, after a foil fall at the start, climbed back to second place, maintaining the overall lead.
