Salomon Running takes over Milan: four routes from 10 to 20 km between the Castle and skyscrapers

Milan transforms on Sunday, September 20 into an urban running course with Salomon Running Milano, which reaches its sixteenth edition. The event, organized by Team Otc with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and Fidal Lombardia, offers four distances ranging from 10 to 20 km, as reported by Corriere della Sera.

Routes between parks and skyscrapers

Start and finish are set in viale Boezio. The route touches some of the city's most recognizable landmarks: the moat of Castello Sforzesco, the Vigorelli velodrome, the Portello neighborhood, Monte Stella and CityLife. The competitive gravel race runs 20 km, while the non-competitive events feature distances of 19.9, 15 and 10 km.

Piazza Burri will host services dedicated to runners, while the commercial village for the event will be set up in the Tre Torri area.

An app against harassment while running

Among the highlights of the 2026 edition is "ChangeToRun", an application developed by the Salomon Foundation together with the ChangeTheGame association to protect women who run in the city. The project stems from a survey by Sapienza University of Rome conducted during Italy's major marathons, according to which 58.7% of respondents reported experiencing harassment while running outdoors, while 70% changed their habits to feel safer.

The app will allow the community to report critical points along urban routes. Daniela Simonetti, founder of ChangeTheGame, explained that survey responses confirm "a climate of anxiety and perception of danger while running", and that the tool will help facilitate requests for help and map the less safe areas of the city.

The event, the Corriere recalls, is part of the legacy of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Among the symbols of the edition, technical jersey and medal made with recycled materials. Registrations had closed on September 17 on the Endu platform.
