Librokilo Returns to Bologna with New Home: 10,000 Books at 10 Euros per Kilo at Ozono Ex Dynamo

Librokilo returns to Bologna, the initiative that combines reading and sustainability, but with a novelty: it changes venue. After two editions hosted at Dumbo, the event moves to Ozono Ex Dynamo, at via dell'Indipendenza 71z, as reported by Il Resto del Carlino.

When and how it works

The appointment is Saturday 3 October, from 10 to 19, and Sunday 4 October, from 10 to 17. The mechanism remains the one that made the event famous: over 10,000 books of every genre, saved from the recycling bin, are sold at a symbolic price of 10 euros per kilo, with a minimum spending of one kilo (decimals included: 1.3 kilos cost 13 euros).

You can also sell

Those who have books in good condition they no longer read can sell them, up to a maximum of 5 kilos: for each kilo given, you receive a token worth 1 euro to spend during the event, with final valuation at the discretion of the organizers.

Access is free but requires mandatory registration, recommended through the official Librokilo website, where you can also check in advance the categories of books not accepted.

Attention to the environment

Organizers invite participants to bring fabric bags, trolleys or recycled bags from home to reduce plastic use. During the two days, water will be distributed free of charge in 100% recycled and recyclable packaging.

According to data reported by Librokilo, in 2024 the initiative put back into circulation 120,000 books, triple compared to 40,000 from the previous year, confirming the project's motto: "Publish less, publish better".
