Levant Fair's final day: crowds, queues for pasta all'assassina and Christmas lights already on

The final day of high attendance at Bari's Levant Fair, which closed its 89th edition with a real sea of visitors. As reported by Corriere del Mezzogiorno, many visitors arrived not only from Bari and Puglia but also from neighboring regions for the event that traditionally marks the resumption of activities after the summer break.

Queues for pasta all'assassina and dairy products

The most crowded stands were the food and wine ones, particularly those of "Campagna Amica" by Coldiretti, stormed for tastings and purchases of Puglian products: grapes, olives, dairy products, cured meats and the now iconic dish of spaghetti all'assassina, offered at 10 euros in the classic version and 12 euros with stracciatella. The Nations pavilion was also very busy, with foreign specialties and accessories.

Christmas atmosphere despite the heat

Despite the still summer-like temperatures of late September, one of the stands already had a Christmas atmosphere, with illuminated trees, lights and a giant Santa Claus that won over the youngest visitors.

Furniture, gardening and law enforcement stands

Great interest also in the furniture pavilions and areas dedicated to gardening, where visitors tried to snag last-minute discounts before dismantling the stands of over 450 exhibitors present this year, according to data provided by the Fair. Queues also at the stands of law enforcement and military, destinations for children and young people curious about vehicles and equipment.

Full parking lots and shuttle buses working to bring visitors to the city center, with no particular complaints reported. Different was the atmosphere in the monumental entrance area, where the institutional pavilions are located: here the spaces appeared half-empty. Next year the Levant Fair will celebrate the milestone of 90 years.
