Bari's Bra Hotel earns Michelin Key: where Meloni once stayed

The Bra Hotel in Bari enters the 2026 selection of hotels awarded with a Michelin Key. The recognition was announced on September 18 as part of the guide's new global selection, as reported by Corriere del Mezzogiorno, and places the via Abate Gimma property among Italian hotels distinguished for the overall quality of the stay experience.

The Meloni precedent

The hotel had already come under the spotlight in early September, when it hosted Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who stayed there on the night of September 4-5 following an event at the Bari port. The next morning, as she left the property, some people were waiting for her greetings and photographs.

What is the Michelin Key

The key represents for hotels what the star is for dining. The system provides one, two, or three recognitions and serves to distinguish properties deemed most significant by inspectors, who evaluate anonymously and independently. Among the criteria: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, personality of the property, relationship between experience and price, and ability to fit into the context in which it operates.

Ten rooms in the heart of Bari

The Bra is a ten-room hotel in the Murat district, a short distance from the waterfront and Bari Vecchia. The Michelin profile dedicated to the property highlights its central location and the contemporary design of the spaces.
